Dad passed away peacefully at home with Rosemary, myself and a few close family members yesterday. Dad was a wonderful man, he loved music, even in his last few days when he didn't seem to be aware of much, he would conduct or tap along to his favourite songs from the old musicals and Marty Robbins cowboy ballads. Dad loved to sing, and his 'party piece' was "The Wild Colonial Boy", unfortunately his cancer knocked out the nerve to his vocal chords and prevented him from being able to sing, which distressed him - he cried when he couldn't join in the hymn singing on "Songs of Praise" on TV. I thank you all for your messages and thoughts. "He drew two pistols from his belt and he proudly waved them high, I'll fight but not surrender cried the wild colonial boy." you fought hard dad and we're going to miss you, but I'm sure you can sing your heart out now. slainte alison
