And the salvors claim to have got most of the oil off the Rena now and the beaches have been cleaned up. It is still on the reef and hasn't broken up yet. They have put a big crane and a barge next to it to start getting the containers off. Oh and there is a big exclusion zone around it in case the containers fall off and hurt someone. Still very slow going.

And the captain and first office are still languishing in jail waiting for their trial to commence on charges of a slew of maritime offences, with quite large penalties attached.
