Tiri was magnificent. We had paid the extra five dollars for the guided tour expecting to be part of a group of, oh maybe dozens, but it was just us and the wonderful Helen. She offered us a choice of the hour and a half walk or the two hour walk. We chose the latter and managed to make it last more like three and a half hours. We barely had time to eat our sandwiches (packed in a rodent-proof container, of course) and have a visit with Greg (the Takahe) before the boat left.
