I used to host an Open Mike in Worcester MA, Marion, and no one was ever disbarred from performing no matter how dire they were. And they were always listened to politely and applauded afterwards. And that is true of all the Open Mikes I have been to. ( As long as they don't over-run their time ). So go for it, it could be hugely important to your friends' development. Murray
