I've hosted house concerts with Debra Cowan and John Roberts (individually and together, both are terrific) and many others. My living room has become my favorite venue. I have a wish list of the people I would like to see here, and for this reason have not booked any cold calls but would not rule it out; I have been contacted by a couple of people prominent enough it would not have occurred to me to contact them, and also by people who are far away and whom I did not know were going to be in my area.
If, however, you wish to look for venues, definitely include information about your location and type of music, with sound clips or YouTube links.
