For a fine intro to properly performed Irish trad music, one could do worse than to sign up for the streaming music service "Spotify" and do a search for "Irish Folk Festival." The results you'll get is for a series of albums recorded at the Irish Folk Festival (in Germany of all places) over a few years. Fantastic assortment of proper Irish trad musicians at the top of their game.
