Little Hawk - very pleased that you've now heard some of her repertoire (and please note that it varied according to recording date - slowing as she got older/was persuaded of its significance).

To find the best range of her material (not all ballads), type in Kist o Riches, which is the archive of The School of Scottish Studies in Edinburgh and contains recordings of Jeannie from the 1950s (and later recordings of her daughter Lizzie Higgins -- another superb singer).
