I don't think you could be more wrong. The Folk Club Award was voted for by folk artists, I don't know why it has been dropped, probably because all the artists liked the same clubs, seems from memory to have been either the Davy Lamp or Nettlebed. The Club is still the bedrock of the folk society, there would be no performers without the clubs. If you think about it for more than a nonosecond, it will become obvious why it appears to be only top names that are getting awards.
