My father (b. 1906) used to sing this song when he was a little "tipsy" (to my mother's consternation)the following lyrics: "There once was a girl I knew by the name of slough foot Sue- She was chief engineer at the shirt tail factory, down by the riverside view. Oh, a shirt was all she had and a face like a soft-shelled crab- Every nite she wood hussle with a button on her bustle- and oh boy was she bad!"
