Attended the wake of my friend and singing buddy Jack McAndrew yesterday evening. He was a wonderful promoter, organizer, and coordinator of Irish music in the Hudson Valley, as well as being a wonderful singer and guitar player himself. I first met him when I dropped in on one of the famed Guinan's "Rising of the Moon" gatherings in Garrison, and told him I had a guitar out of the car. He told me to grab it and come in and take a seat. He was the first to encourage me to sing in public, and he always supported my efforts. He will be much missed. http://www.thedailycortlandt.com/neighbors/cortlandts-jack-mcandrew-dies-72
