Well, in the Albany, NY area, people associated with the Pick'n' and Sing'n' Gather'n' meet an average of once a month at two different pubs (bars) in the area to sing. It's "organized" in that a bunch of people are aware of when they'll happen, but anybody can lead a song, request one, or just sing along, including other folks in the bar at the time. We also have house sings whenever someone has the urge to host one.
