The Fillmore East was named after the Fillmore West, which was on Fillmore Street in SF--but Fillmore is between Pierce and Buchanan, and not far from Clay and Webster--so, obviously, the streets were named for presidents and major political figures of the day--and in a sense, anyway, they were named for Millard Fillmore (not one of our best presidents)-- |
