I'm trying to get the Lyrics for "White Dog of Yockenthwaite", the poem by Dorothy Una Ratcliffe as sung by Artisan. It's in Yorkshire dialect which (although I am technically a Yorkshireman) makes it difficult to pick out from the recording. Particularly the third and fifth verses.... On't …… … were yowling Both were a fair disgrace. They hear Dog of Yockenthwaite, Hunting in Langstrath Chase. and Young ....... in byre were baling .............. up bale of straw. Yon White Dog of Yockenthwaite, ........... Wi'oot a shawl. I've hunted most places on the web for this and drawn a blank. I'd like to sing this, but am reticaent without the genuine original poet's words. PEH
