Filey Folk Festival 2012 (North Yorkshire, between Scarborough & Bridlington) returns this coming weekend 4th/5th/6th May. 4 pubs hosting the event with about a 100 acts (different acoustic styles). 2 of the pubs, Imperial & The Station will have plenty room for singarounds/jams/poetry/poems. Imperial will be just for anybody and everybody to join in.

The Imperial has 2 'halves' with the bar smack bang in the middle. On the right hand side snugs make up the most part - and a more open half on the left. Anybody familiar with the Sun Inn, Beverley, might get the idea of what it could be like - bit smaller though. Landlord & landlady Mark & Charlotte promise to make folksters very welcome. They are going to make a few sandwiches for all players and regulars and stick a few snacks on the bar too. Local yorkshire lad Mick McGarry will be down hosting a few songs and getting things going.

The Station Pub has prebooked acts on but has a seperate lounge area and marquee covered beer garden for singarounds & jams. Another yorkshire lad Derek Waudby will be hosting and generally pointing people in the right direction down there. A few sandwiches are being put on too.

Filey is really just emerging as a regular on the folk festival calendar having being revived in 2011. So bear with it, could turn out to be a good un. Well it's at the seaside for a start !
