At the moment this is only a problem on youtube, since Google the owner of youtube has a deal with Rumblefish to make money from traditional music being performed on our vids, But the effect can be far reaching and cause problems for all of us who perform traditional music that heretofore was in the public domain. This seems to be fallout from the recent law passed in the US to supposedly protect copyrights.
