Hello everyone, I pulled out the actual Voice-O-Graph to inspect it a bit. Maybe some context may help narrow things down a bit. It is postmarked 1951, so the song is at least that old. My grandfather was born in 1931, for what it is worth. He was born and raised in rural Southern Alabama. As Jim Dixon mentioned before, it has a feel of a cowboy song or a railway song. Unfortunately, this is where my trail cuts off. I have asked a few family members if they had ever heard him sing the song before, but I have had no luck there yet.
