well, it's an opinion, and an informed one. I don't see that you can dismiss the quality of someone's writing based on disagreement wth their opinion. I have to say I have many, many, many more folk albums that I know and love from the 50, 60s, 70s and 2000s than I have from the 80s and 90s. The 1980s were a funny decade for music: music production gimmickry went crazy in ways that weren't good for folk.
