All the other US federal holidays (or very nearly all of them) are now celebrated on a Monday rather than upon a set date. The Fourth of July is the obvious exception ~ and this year, since it falls precisely in the middle of the week, there is no "4th of July weekend." An article in Sunday's paper, business section, pointed out that travel is down this year because of the 4th being on a Wednesday (fewer air and hotel bookings, etc., nationwide). Ho hum. We have to settle for a single day off tomorrow. Back to work Thursday morning (some of us perhaps nursing hanflovers).
