Salem, OR. This year, Oregonians conducted a completely vote-by-mail election. Ballots were mailed out, and could be mailed back or dropped off at designated locations. Postmarks didn't count; you had to actually have the ballot physically in the hands of the officials by 8 pm on election day. I dropped mine off about three hours before the polls close.
Our ballots were lengthy, due to the many ballot measures, but readable. I didn't have any trouble. There were some glitches with the voter's pamphlet; they sent out one volume with the ballot measures and one with the candidates, and some households only received one or the other. Ooops. We solved this by getting together at the pub last Thursday with six of our friends and all of our voter's pamphlets and other resources, and having a great couple of hours of discussion on the issues over good beer and good food. I highly recommend it.
