A more effective use of time for an out of town artist than trailing around for a couple of months asking for floor spots. A local would have a better idea of the metoropolitan folk scene would know roughly which clubs were likely to be interested in his/her particular style. Getting all the club organisers to turn out and support the event will be the tricky bit.
