I like the way the NCAA can rewrite history and nullify games retroactively. Ignoring the absurdity of pretending the games never took place, the NCAA's own rules state that a game can only be nullified if an ineligible layer participates. At the same time individual players are not disappeared. This is fun. In 2005 running back Tony Hunt gained 1047 yards for the season. That season is now officially 0-1. Therefore Tony Hunt averaged 1047 yards per game. Phenomenal, I say, a new NCAA record. Will the NCAA update its record books to reflect their pettiness? Don't get me wrong. I am not a Jo Pa worshiper. I am old enough school to believe that Penn State is not a legitimate part of the Big Ten. As for the statue, I think it would have been more appropriate ith they had just turned it around so JoPa would be looking the other way.
