Pete McNabb won the song writing competition with an excellent song 'On the morning tide' - based on a true 20th century story about running away to sea and returning just in the nick of time to be reunited with family. The song had a wonderful strong chorus and managed to avoid the cliched/oft used images and words assdociated with the subject. The whole festival was excellent - from the pre festival night at the Cutty Wren club to the final sing around at the Spa. Well done and a very big thank you to John Taylor & Co for another excellent festival.
