I suppose my elementary schools may have gotten some sort of cut from practically forcing us kids to sell magazines. Sometimes we were to sell candy instead. I hated it all! The whole process of ringing some stranger's doorbell and trying to talk them into buying something was both scary and distasteful to me. I despised being put in that position. I'm sure now that it takes a very special kind of person to do face-to-face selling. I have a deep admiration for those who successfully do that. At the same time, I celebrate not being among them!
