There have always been folk clubs in Sydney to my knowledge although they may not be named as such ...eg the Bush Music Club. We have the Folk Federation of New South Wales which has a web site I think.
There are indeed plenty of folk festivals out here in OZ. Oh yes. It is all "go" out here! Best wishes AD
