As some of you know, when I go to a festival, visit folks, or want to get in good with a mechanic, I bake something; usually a quickbread or chocolate cake, to show I appreciate somebody's work and just keep their blood sugar up through a long day. Trouble is, some of my dear friends are now diabetic, and I need something that won't kill 'em. Artificial sweeteners are out, as some of them give folks a splitting headache. Savory would be nice, but high salt content is not a good idea either. I usually make the treats and then travel, say 500 miles to deliver the goods. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
