GUEST,Peri Arnold | Dodi Kallick: What do you know? (25) | RE: Dodi Kallick: What do you know? | 12 Sep 12 |
In the early 1960s my friends and discovered Dodi Kallick at Evanston's "No Exit" cafe. Hearing her the first time, I made every effort to hear her every time I could make it. Her songs were riveting. While she sang that noisy coffee house was absolutely still, and Kallick's voice soared in the space. I probably romanticize the experience nearly fifty years later, but Kallick's singing remains for me one of my most memorable musical experiences (in a life full of live music). |
