Barry Finn recently mentioned in another thread that The Johnson Girls recently released a new CD. Most people who've heard the recording like it so much that I thought it deserves a thread of its own. Who are The Johnson Girls? Five women who live in New York City and who sing maritime songs including chanteys and songs about the role of women and the sea. They are part of the official sea song group at South Street Seaport Museum. You can look at the CD cover and hear "snip-its" of a few tracks at the Folk-Legacy website. Why don't you stop by Folk-Legacy and let other Mudcatters know what you think right here!
