I'm writing down my list of things to do
Just in case I'm not around to do these things for you
Remind your loving daddy wash the bottles and the bibs
To match your bows and dresses when he takes you out with him
Your mommies little angel and oh what would I give
To be there for you…there for you

Just in case I'm not around for your first day of school
Listen to your teacher and mind your manners please
If daddy fixes dinner he's great with mac and cheese
And each night when you say your prayers down there on your knees

The devil hurt my body so heaven's called me home
I'll be watching with the angels so you'll never be alone
There's so much that I want to say to this little girl of mine
But the doctors say it's won't be long I'm running out of time

So I'm writing down my list of things to do
Knowing I won't be around to do these things for you
Like help you make your prom dress and see you home that night
And when your daddy walks you down the isle all dressed in white
When you think about your mamma baby look into the light
And know I'm alright…

And no matter what you do…just remember… Mommy loves you.
