It's lullaby time in the desert
When the coyotes start to howl
The roadrunner stops his running around
Just to hear the lonely cry of the owl

Won't you lay your head down on the sand
Listen to the whippoorwill's song
All along the desert tonight
Sleepy eyes are closing 'til dawn

There's a full moon rising in the desert tonight
Help the Sand Man on his way
The flowers are blooming the cactus arising
God's garden every brand new day

The deer will lay down with the lion
And the jack rabbit's dancing to noon
The Sand Man comes to show you the way
To shake hands with the man in the moon
