It can be mastering issues disagreeing with a particular model of CD player - not long ago a guest proudly brought their brand new CD into the studio to do an on-air launch, and it wouldn't register or play... so I stuck it in the duplicator and the copy played fine. No, this is not a homemade CD, it is commercially produced - and not one original we've tried will work in the Denon players, yet a CDR copy plays perfectly.
