On behalf of the organisers of the Folk21 Regional Day (to be held on Saturday 23rd February 2013 at Cecil Sharp House, Camden Town, London):

Thanks to some creative programming we are very pleased to announce that the Folk21 London Day will be able to provide showcasing opportunities for no fewer than 10 (yes, ten!) artists from outside the region. Nevertheless, with 53 artists' applications, including many of the highest calibre, the selection process was always going to be difficult, and so indeed it proved. The eventual list of the selected applicants is as follows:

Featured Artists (throughout the day):

1.       BarlowCree                      (Cardiff)

2.       Ben Church                      (Manchester)

3.       Debra Cowan                      (Massachusetts, US)

4.       Fran Smith (tbc)                (Leeds)

5.       Thrup'nny Bits                   (Warwickshire)

Showcase concert (evening, headlined by Robb Johnson):

1.       Gren Bartley & band            (West Midlands)

2.       James Findlay                  (Dorset)

3.       GU4                            (Leicester)

4.       Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin (Devon)

5.       Tattie Jam                     (Argyll & Bute, Scotland)

With three excellent workshops for the London folk venue organisers and this line-up we believe that we have the makings of an exceptional Regional Day and we are really looking forward to listening to them all in the hallowed halls of Cecil Sharp House!
