GUEST,Heyokah the Venerable aka Mommy's Boy Thought for the day - November 17, 2000 (5) Thought for the day - November 17, 2000 17 Nov 00

I am Siamese is you please; I am Siamese if you don't please.

Actually it matters not to me what you please, unless it pleases My Madam also. 'Tis I, Heyokah-hey, who has been with My Madam longer than any of her other subjects. 'Tis I she snuggles and kisses on the forehead, naming me her "Best Boy" softly calling me in a nasal tone appoximating my own superior accent, calling Haaaay OOOOOHHHH kaw hay, in a singsong fashion. Sometimes she calls to me, singing "HeyOH, c'mon with MOMMEE, git up here wif MOMMEE, I've got a blankie" and I find her quite irresistable. She really does quite well at it, most times I am able to fathom what she intends.

While I maintain an almost constant state of decorum, I am not called after the Native American jokester character for nought. I love to hear My Madam laugh, so often will find myself doing such silly things even though it doesn't befit my station in life. She will call me to fishie and I will pretend to misunderstand, running for the door for a walkie instead.

Madam is worried about me at the moment. She knows I abhor change, like my warm comforts, hate riding in the box that roars, and have not many teeth left. She understands my delicate constitution under stress and I confess, makes it as acceptable as possible. The house is dotted with baby blankies in all of my favourite spots and she is quick to assert my First One's Rights whenever one of the others steals a spot. She is also lovely at providing escort service to and from the facilities and the dining table. As long as I am with My Madam, I will tolerate almost anything.

I must say I am quietly excited about the box of bars she has promised is on its way. Whether a safe haven for Ms. Lovee and me or a Time Out for that nasty youngster, Trystan, I shall be glad of the respite from constantly watching my back and sides and front whenever he lurks. Amongst the rest of us he is known as the Stealth Cat. 'Tis a pity all of the old ladies who would have put a stop to his nonscence with a sharp slap on the nose have passed on, it falls to the others to hold their own with him, as Lovee has indicated she does with her lovely voice. It is an even draw between him and Kelpie, while the Beige Bros. don't mind a little rough and tumble. I, of course, am above all of that and will simply wait for My Madam to put it right when things get out of paw.

I shall be relieved when the Move is over. For now, I curl up in my special place on or by the hot thing My Madam sits in front of to visit with you or on the special blankie-on-a-box she has fixed up specially for me. My delicate nerves are a bit on edge at the moment, but it certainly has been helpful and pleasant to visit with you.

Good day to you one and all,

Heyokah the Venerable, of course
