As always, we're talking at cross-purposes – some of us construing "folk music" to mean what we find in the Folk bin of a US record store, others adhering to a 1950-something definition that hardly anyone has ever heard of even in the UK. I assumed Cathy was talking about folk musicians in the former sense, since she said she's American and since her second post mentioned "medium to large venues."
