As it happens, I was out on the water in San Francisco Bay when one of the smaller match-racing cats was out. Boy, I have never seen anything with sails move so fast! Clearly sailing them - and particularly the big ones which will contest the America's cup - is a completely different order of magnitude from sailing a monohull. And the solid wings (not sails) that power them are complex and difficult to trim right. I look forward to the series: there will be some unforgettable spectacles in San Francisco when that happens!
