GUEST,Gina and Bill Dunlap House Concert--Connecticut--Hughie Jones (3) House Concert--Connecticut--Hughie Jones 21 Oct 12

Hughie Jones will be doing a concert at our house in Wallingford, Connecticut, this coming Friday (October 26).

As always, reservations are necessary. Please email ginadunlap@att.net or call 203-679-0016. We will send driving instructions.

Hughie is one of Britain's most popular performers at folk clubs and maritime festivals. He was a member of the legendary Liverpool folk group the Spinners (no relation to the Motown group of the same era) from the fifties till the band broke up in 1988. He put out more than 30 albums with the Spinners, and he continues to release CDs on his own. He is one of the mainstays of the folk and nautical music scenes in Britain today, especially so in Liverpool, where he and his wife, Chris, run the Everyman Folk Club. His repertoire includes the sea shanties and folk songs of the Spinners as well as the many nautical songs he composed for the group and has continued to write since. He has a wonderful voice and is one of our favorite folk singers. Come prepared to join in on a lot of chorus songs and well-known favorites. Check him out on YouTube.

We are asking for a donation of $20. All proceeds will go directly to the performer.

Doors will open at 7 p.m., and we will have refreshments then and at the interval. The music will begin about 8.

Appetizers and desserts are welcome
