As one of the very newly enfranchised young voters, I ran as a McGovern delegate (along with Mom--one of a few "family acts" that year). At a rally in Columbia, MD, Bill and Taffy Danoff (still married, and well before "Afternoon Delight") sang "Country Roads" as part of the program.

One of the last great Dems, he was actually from "the Democratic wing of the Democratic party." RIP, indeed!
