I took advantage of a cut-price deal on Photoshop Elements a few years back, and found it did everything I needed of it - as Auldtimer said, the real deal. HOWEVER... after a year or so it suddenly stopped working, on one machine after another, for no obvious reason. I figured there must have been an incompatible update to Windows. Adobe weren't able to help as it was an old version, no longer supported (hence of course the cut-price offer).

I'd cough up the full whack for the current version, but I have this niggling feeling - how long would it be before the same thing happened again?
