I think a "walk in the woods" would be ok if you had known the person awhile - but these day I wouldn't "walk in the woods" with anyone that I did not know real well. You might not ever come out of those woods again! That is a pretty cheap date - didn't stop for a meal or coffee or tea or have a little lunch after walking in the woods? Even if I knew the guy well, I would still think he should take you for a meal and cup of coffee or nice cup of tea & cakes after the walk in the woods.
