Little Robert Robert L. Johnson say's Hello - 3 (1) Robert L. Johnson say's Hello - 3 19 Nov 00

Hello Everybody!!!!!! Sorry......I know it's been a few days since I last posted. I've been alittle busy.....I have of yet to buy a personal computer.....so I currently do all my surfing at the public library.......that is why postings may seem eratic.

Anyway, we got an offer from the other parties invovled....(we turned it down). It's not nearly enough to cover expenses already incurred.

I pray that all this financial haggering doesn't tarnish the name of my uncle.......but bring it more into the forefront. A terrible injustice has been done to him........and to someone who was very dear to him.....(his sister). This is a wrong that needs to be righted. Unfortnately. There are those who do not feel they need to do this. They havn't offered any apologies of any kind. And continue the stance that they have done (nothing wrong)...................this is what saddens me the most. My grandmother trusted them.........(and her trust was taken advantage of). In a day and time where wrongs are being righted from the damage of past deeds done......this is one that needs to be paid particular attention. Just put yourself in my shoes.......(it could be you and your family that the wrong is being done to.....)!!!!!!

Anyway,.........on a more positive note(smile)!!!!! I want to answer some of the questions that was asked in response to earlier postings.

1 - How did my grandmother feel about her brother's musical impact on the world. ......Well, unfortunately, she never got a chance to see to totality of it. She knew her brother's music was popular but not to the extent that my aunt and myself have seen it grown. However her love for her brother far outweighed his musical accomplishemnts. To her he was (brother robert). Someone that she grew up with and cared for as a child. He was family!!!!! And he was always lovingly referred to as (brother or uncle).

2 - As to the questions of my musical abilities. ........I like my uncle took a liking to the guitar at an early age. My mother bought me my first guitar (a plastic acoustic guitar with nylon strings) when I was a toddler. I got my first (real) acoustic guitar about the age of eight or nine years old. Even by then I was learning how to play songs I would hear on the radio and on my favorite records (by ear). When I became a teenager my mother bought me (at my request) a bass guitar. I remember it well. It was a red electric acoustic bass......and I played that thing until it just about feel apart. Also, while I was in elementary school, I learned to play the piano. I never really had a formal lesson on the bass guitar. Lesson's like that bored me because I could learn to play much faster by just listening to any song I wanted to learn how to play. So......to make a long story short my musical talents grew. I've played in a few bands and have even done a litlle studio work. However this is where it gets erie. One night while hanging out with some friends of mine in Baltimore, I was approached by a man while me and my friends were hanging out on a corner in the downtown area. He walks up to me and asks me if I want to sell my soul to the devil......he even had a book for me to sign.......(I turned down the offer).....but that night has always stuck in my mind.

Enough of that stuff (yeach!!!) back to the questions (Smile)!!!!!

Last question....Do I feel that all this wrangling is worth it. .......Yes I do!!!!!! I feel my grandmother and aunt deserve recognition and the family compensated for all the work that they have put into it. Because if it wasn't for the efforts of my grandmother........(there would be no estate). (There would be no Complete Recordings). And no one would know as much about my uncle as they do now. The would has benefited from her trust and sharing......and she deserves much more then she has recieved......

Well......that's all for now (smile)!!!!! I've got to be movin' on...... I will be in touch again soon!!!!!

Always, little robert
