I was in first year at college (in Canada) when the news came. They played the radio news over the P.A. system. Classes were cancelled for the remainder of the day. We all went home. Being sent home seems to be a common response to the event. I wonder why? Was there some directive that those in charge were following? Was there a fear that something worse was about to happen? rags
