Duck Baker and Helen Roche met in London in 2007, introduced by the great singer and irish flute player, Maggie Boyle, and were married the following year. Though both have largely pursued their own individual careers in the years since then, they have found the time to work up a duo repertoire of traditional songs from Ireland, England, Wales, and France, and have appeared together onstage in the UK, the US, and Italy.

Virginia-born Duck Baker has appeared on some 60 records over the last 35 years, including 25 under his own name. His interest in ancient Christmas carols was first documented on his classic solo record, "The Salutation" in 1986, and he has since then presented concerts of seasonal music in the UK and the US regularly over the years, as well as a radio programme on the subject for BBC Scotland. One of the most highly regarded fingerstyle guitarists of his generation, Baker is at his most musical in bringing these ancient melodies to life.

London-born, and raised in mid-Wales, Helen Roche inherited her singing from her father Jules and grandfather Bill, both of Liverpool. Helen's warm, versatile voice and emotionally satisfying phrasing have enthralled her many audiences, including those at the Ennis Trad Festival, Willie Clancy Week in Miltown Malbay, the Liverpool Irish Festival, and many sessions around London. Helen is best known for her 2004 CD, "Shake the Blossom Early," a collection of Irish love songs which received glowing reviews in the UK, Ireland, and the US. One of the tracks was selected for inclusion on the widely circulated "Rough Guide to Irish Music".
