I was in Worcester during the storm of '78, and I can forgive the hype this time. The thing about that storm was the timing - kids were in school, folks were at work when it started to snow 2 inches/hour. By the time everyone looked up, they all headed home at the same time, completely clogging Route 128, the beltway around Boston. Took a week or more to rescue all the folks and tow away all the stranded cars. This time, schools are closed and folks are warned to stay home. If we do get those drifts and heavy snow (there were 10 foot drifts in my driveway in '78) at least the plows will be able to get to work.
