From Donnachadh McCarthy (FB friend of mine):
>>>>"Gently pleased that my comment on Joseph Ratzinger's retirement got one of the higher positive ratings on the BBC day's main story. (below is Donnachadh's BBC comment)
"as someone who suffered sexual abuse as an 8 year old altar boy in Ireland - I was horrified by this man's refusal to allow Irish police to examine Vatican paedophile records. An action that would have forced the resignation of the head of any other institution. He lethally collaborated with extremist religious fundamentalists in around the world to suppress women's and gay people's human rights."
I guess unlike nearly every other of the "state's" temporary "citizens" he will retain his bizarre citizenship of the Vatican "State" permanently following his resignation.
That would mean he can avoid charges in relation to his 20 years of supervision of the paedophile scandal and his refusal to allow those records to be examined by prosecutors around the world, charges that Geoffrey Robertson QC believes in his book are so severe that he should be arraigned in the Hague."<<<<<
