As always, it's difficult to know what to say when new such as this reaches you. I've known Dave for as long as I've known anyone else on the folk circuit but our paths didn't cross after he left to become a full time producer. I was told he was ill a couple of years ago but such news always comes as a shock. Great musician, great wit, who will be sadly missed.
