Given your intended purpose, it seems to me that it might be safest to design your own can label, perhaps borrowing design elements from the old cans but not actual images.

It would clearly be more work than simply copying a label, but you could save in the long run. Come to think of it you might even incorporate some of the text you want on the CD as part of the small print on the can.

Like you mg, I am dubious about using anything which I cannot prove is out of copyright, and there may also be a question of trade names involved.
