When I need to be loud, (but not Strat loud) I've been pretty happy with a DiMarzio Virtual Acoustic (humbucker with volume slider) and a Crate C60 amp reinforcing my Hummingbird. "Tradsteve" notwithstanding, even when there's room for them, I find mics to be a pain and this outfit lets my ears coexist with my wallet.
