"My Grandad was at sea in WW1 and before. Babies head was steak and kidney pudding then." They still were steak and kidney puddings when I last had one in the 90s. More specifically, tinned steak and kidney pudding. Each tin contained two portions; the pudding came out of the tin in cylindrical form and was then sliced in two by the chef. Looking down upon this delicacy reminded one of a small head with the cranium removed, lovely!
