I've had no luck finding anything on this tune recorded in 1930 by Irish immigrant Frank Quinn, popular in the New York City area at that time. The song is a duet with Nan Fitzpatrick singing the wife's part of an argument, of sorts, over the husband's free spending ways. It begins like this: One night I came home to my Kitty after traveling the whole world around

Strong ale made me jovial and witty I carelessly sat myself down

I put my hand into my pocket and gave her my money to count

But Kitty indeed was no block head she quickly told me the amount

"Dear husband, do you know what I'm thinking? The truth I'll reveal unto you...."

Anyone?

Thanks to all, Rosie
