We have lots of information about Mary Bowles including Irish Republican Women and the entry in the Cork Gaol book. Aging cousins gave us bits of details as did my mother-in-law and we have gleaned all sorts of bits of information from newspaper cuttings from around the world (the Irish diaspora certainly kept on top of happenings back home). It was always the extra of the words of the song we were interested in especially as we tend to sing lots of Irish songs at our pub gigs and especially around St. Patrick's Day.
