Eiraka and Peg - why don't all just move to Texas? We have lots of good music around here, some great clubs and festivals (North Texas Irish Festival is the second bigest in the US)and I am sure you'd find some good folks to join! Seriously, I wish ya the best luck in finding a new home. I found a great band through the Mudcat, in a thread just like this one. They have also turned out to be great friends, and I am having a great time playing with them - so maybe you will be as lucky.
